Holdings of This Company in Bingham, Pioche, H Beaver County, Utah, and Rawhide, Nev- H ada, Being Rapidly Developed. H Company Is Well Financed and In- I tenfion Is to Seek Values I at Depth. I On the Boston-Pioche property at Pioche, Nev., the. main shaft has attained a depth of 770 feet and the drift on the 300-foot "has "been fl driven for 460 .feet. On the 600-foot there is a crosscut, -which lias jH j opened up a large body of high grade ore. Work has also been, started on the McFadden and Louise claims. The intention of the manage-mcnt manage-mcnt is not to make immediate shipments from this property, but to expend all its energ' in opening up the mine. The'-estate of the company comprises some thirty-four claims. The ores of the Boston-Pioche are high-grade silver lead and fl there is a large tonnage blocked novr. Shipments that vrere main- jH taincd under the old management were discontinued and it is the in-tention in-tention now to sink to the 1000-foot level before 'cutting any more stations. This property is under the management of Earl Pembroke, the well-known Salt Lake engineer. EQUIPMENT. H The company is well equipped with a 100-horsepower .hoist at the shaft and there is a fifty-horsepower hoist down in the mine. Other equipment consists of a twelve-drill compressor and substantial build-ings build-ings necessary for a long campaign of development. At the McFadden property, where a large tonnage is available, it is the intention to in-stall in-stall a tramway to facilitate shipments. Many expert mining men who have visited this district are extravagant in their praise of this property. The Baby mine at Pioche is another property of this company, which adjoins the Ely Valley company and has the same vein which the latter company is developing. The Scott people are prosecuting development within 300 feet of their lines. AT BINGHAM. H The company" controls theTiewaukee lease on the Bingham-Butte's property and they are prosecuting development there with vigor and receiving highly satisfactory results. 4 BEAVER COUNTY. H Under the name of the "Wild Bill Mining company, which was formed to develop the "Wild Bill property, the company is working some very fine ground in Beaver county. The property is being equipped with a twenty-five horsepower hoist and preparations are under way to sink to the 600 or 700-foot level. The old Beaver mill gH is being overhauled and put into shape to treat the output of this property, which already has a splendid tonnage blocked out. RAWHIDE HOLDINGS. H The Rawhide Northern Consolidated properties, which the Scott company owns, is one of the show places of this camp which, is noted for its remarkable values. The main shaft is now down some 230 feet and has reached the sulphide ore. In one place twenty-seven feet of milling ore has been opened up. One hundred and twenty-seven jH feet of milling sulphide ore was gone through in drilling for water. LEASES. H TJiere are a number of leases working on this property,- and on the "Westovcr ground the dump is being graded preparatory to erect-ing erect-ing a shaft house and installing a hoisting plant. "Work has pro-gressed pro-gressed satisfactorily on this. "When this improvement is completed it is the intention to sink from the fifty to the 100-foot level, aud at 'H the deeper point it; is expected to prove up the north continuation of tho King Hill lease. From the drift on the fifty-foot there has already H been extracted a good tonnage of $100 rock and some '100 tons of ore fl that will run $15 per ton. At the same time a great deal of milling H grade ore has been blocked out. The Goldeu Fissure lease is drifting on the ledge at the 100-foot H station and has some high-grade rock. Machinery will be installed for fl development at a greater depth. The Deep Shaft lease has attained a depth of over .150 feet and H are drifting on the vein. A hoisting plant will also be installed on the property. The Reed company has agreed to sink 700 feet ou thoir lease, so it jfH can be seen that the property of this companywrill soon attain a stage of development where it will become one of the heavy producers of H that camp. : From this showing it cau be seen that the investments of the I H Scolt Mines company arc among the best in the country, and they H have the making of several big mines among their holdings. Mr. A. "W. Scott is the president of the company which has accomplished so 1H much in a comparatively short time. Much is expected from this or-ganization or-ganization during the coming year, and there is every reason for belief JH that the highest hopes of all will be realized. |
