Show Former Hytonite Victim Of Salt Lake Robbery MYTON (Special) A former Myton My-ton resident was the victim of a kidnapping and robbery during the Late hours of Thursday, April 19 and early hours of Friday, April 20 Kay Dennis, son of Syerl Den-nie Den-nie of Myton, store manager of Safeway Market at 608 So. W. .Temple in Salt Lake City, was kidnapped from his home at 921 W. 4th N St. by one robber while the second robber stayed at the home to guard Mrs. Dennis and the two children, Kathleen, 5 and Richard, 8, who slept throughout the entire affair. Mr. Dennis was forced to ride in his car to the Safeway store and was then compelled to open a safe and two registers containing about $3,000.00 They then returned re-turned to the Dennis home where the two men bound Mr. and Mrs. I Dennis and escaped with the loot. I Kay finally worked free from his bonds and called the police about 4:00 a.m. The car in which the robbers escaped es-caped was located at 9th North and Jordan River about 5:15 Friday Fri-day morning. The method of entry through a basement window and wearing black hoods, also kidnapping of managers of the stores to be burglarized, bur-glarized, has been used several times recently in robbery of large stores or markets in Salt Lake City, but this is the first time such an experience has befallen a member of a Myton family. Mr. and Mrs. Dennis suffered no injury in the ordeal. |
