Show UIHTEROCKS Madeena Smith Pre-School Meet Called For Area Thirty-six pre-school children and 22 parents came to school Wednesday afternoon and met in the first grade room. Mrs. Rust, school nurse, Glenn Oldroyd, primary pri-mary supervisor; Reese' Anderson, guidance ,and A. A. Call of the school board, were present and talked to the people. The purpose of the meeting is preparing the little folks for school next fall. PRESENTS LESSON The social science lesson in Relief Re-lief Society was given Tuesday by Mrs. Doris Cl.oward. Stake president, presi-dent, Minnie' Angus, and Dr. Miles Allen were present at the meeting. The MIA took their one-act play "It's Cold in Them Thar Hills," to Ballard ward Tuesday. The Primary is practicing for their conference to be held the first of May. FIRE BURNS TRUCK A truck belonging to Roy Chris-tensen Chris-tensen caught fire Wednesday as he was coming to town. It burned the cab and gas tank. The men managed to keep the fire from the engine and tires by the aid of fire extinguishers off the school fire truck. ACHIEVES 100 Paul Robb took a group of MIA officers to leadership meeting in Roosevelt Wednesday. Our ward MIA is on the honor roll for having hav-ing an Era for every LDS home in the ward a 100. Mr. and Mrs. Gene Walkup, Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Robb, visited in Salt Lake Wednesday and Thursday. The men went on to Preston, Idaho to look at a saw mill. The children of the late Mr. and Mrs. George H. Bartlett and their families held a reunioij Saturday here' on the Whiterocks school lawn. Ronald Robb, son of Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Robb, had the misfortune misfor-tune of hurting his back while at work last week and is still quite sick. He lives in Salt Lake. A large group of men worked at the church again on Saturday, planting grain and making fence. Mr. and Mrs. Theron Robb of Salt Lake, visited home folks over the weekend. The Relief Society women worked work-ed at the church house Friday, cleaning and painting. Ward Conference was held on Sunday with the stake presidency and other stake officers present. Mr. and Mrs. Elbert Smith and daughter, Terrell, and Lorna Ober-hansly Ober-hansly attended Sacrament meeting meet-ing in Tridell, Sunday. Students of the BYU were speakers. |
