Show GLENDON MALNAR WINS FIRST AT BYU TRACK MEET Glendon Malnar, ninth grade student at the Roosevelt Junior High School, established himself last Friday as the top shot thrower in Utah's junior high schools, when he won first place at the BYU invitational meet. He .heaved the 8-lb. shot 51' y2" to win the top honors. The week before in an invitational invita-tional Basin track meet held at Union, this ninth grader surprised his competitors in high schools and took first in the shot. He heaved the 12-lb. iron ball 41'2." Junior highs use the eight pound and high schools the twelve. Young Malnar, who is a son of Mr and Mrs. Joe Malnar of Neola, is an all-around athlete, having starred on the Roughrider basketball basket-ball team at RJHS, and was one of the better boys on the Neola Junior M Men . team which repre-seented repre-seented Region 14, Sub-Division C, in the All-Church tournament at Logan. |
