Duchesne American Legion Leg-ion Auxiliary, Unit 126, has chosen chos-en Bonnie Daniels to represent the Auxiliary at Girls' State to be held at Logan in June. Bonnie is a junior at Union High School and was chosen from this region at a meeting held on April 2nd. Mrs. Elizabeth Bumgarner was elected Unit president for the coming com-ing year, with Agnes Denver as first vice-president and Lula Mur-dock, Mur-dock, second vice-president. The secretary has not been appointed to date. R - N UTE STUDENT SCORES HIGH Mr. and Mrs. Oran Curry received' re-ceived' word last week that their son, Richard, scored a high 70 in grade over 600 other students who averaged about 30 in mathematics mathe-matics examinations. Richard is attending school in Los Angeles under the Bureau's Vocational Training program. Richard and his family left Ft. Duchesne in Feb. Prior to that he was lease clerk at the agency for a period of three years. R - N Mrs. Ethel Kolb, owner of the Ouray Trading Post, went to Salt Lake City Monday on a marketing trip for the store. R - N Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy Condie of Salt Lake City, were' reservation visitors last week in regard to the State Rehabilitation program. R - N Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Walking-ton Walking-ton and Mrs. Hilda T.. Stewart of Pioche, Nevada, were visitors here last week. R N Little Manuel Buck, son of Mr. i and Mrs. Hobert Buck, underwent surgery this week. R - N Mr. and Mrs. Harris Workman from Roy, Utah, were weekend guests of Mr. and Mrs. Preston Allen at Altonah. Also Sunday visitors were Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Hackford from Lapoint. R - N A Civil Patrol meeting was held in the court room Friday for the employees of the agency. R - N 'Bernard Lucero and George Condie from Salt Lake City, attended at-tended the Bear Dance at Rand-lett Rand-lett over the weekend. R - N Mr. and Mrs. Bret Hendricks of Vernal and Mr., and Mrs. Albert Young of Lapoint were Sunday visitors at the Charles Hendricks home. R - N The' Randlett Bear Dance committee com-mittee held a meeting at the home of John Victor last Thursday. R - N Charles Reed, Jr. is home after attending a radio and television school in Denver. Mrs. Betty Taylor LaRose from Brigham City visited over the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Richard Rich-ard Taylor at Whiterocks. R - N Gary Poowegup and family left last week for Los Angeles, where Garry will enter training under Vocational Training. R - N Joseph Starr from Neola left Sunday for San Jose, Calif, on Relocation, Re-location, where he will seek employment. em-ployment. R . N Mr. and Mrs. Fred Cummins and son, Rocky, from Cuba, New Mexico, Mex-ico, are visiting with the Alfred Parrietts this week. R - N Reggie Bumgarner, who is attending at-tending school in Provo under the State Rehabilitation program was home over the weekend. R - N A. N. Workman is staying at the Preston Allen home in Altonah at present. |
