Show Legion Groups Elect Officers The American Legion and Auxiliary, Aux-iliary, Wm. R. Sands Post and Unit No. 5, held special meetings last week for the election of officers. of-ficers. Legion officers selected were: commander, Blaine Brokaw; 1st vice-commander, Paul Bowden; 2nd vice-commander, J. L. Court-land; Court-land; adjutant, A. C. Tolboe; chaplain, chap-lain, Allan Babcock;, finance officer, of-ficer, Milton Lott; sergeant-at-arms, George Wedig; service officer, offi-cer, W. R. Harris, with assistant, Milton Lott; board of directors, A. C. Tolboe, H. C. Cooper, Lynn Dean and Carl Stephens. Officers elected to serve the Auxiliary were: president. Florence Lott; 1st vice-president, Fanny Felter; 2nd vice-president, JoAnn Tolboe; secretary, Odie Hemphill; sergeant-at-arms, Alexia Cooper historian, Gladys Harris; chaplain, Alice Brummett. ATTEND DINNER Mr. and Mrs. Wilmer Murrav accompanied James Bacon of j Roosevelt and Mr. and Mrs. Spencer Squire's to Provo Friday, where they attended the Scout Fellowship banquet. Mr. Murray is scoutmaster of troop 235, and Mr. Bacon is district committee chairman of the Scouts. Myton Boy Scout troop 253 participated' par-ticipated' in an overnight trip to to the Scout camp east of town Friday evening. Sixteen boys at-extended at-extended under the supervision of Explorer Jerry Murray. R. C. Walker returned to Salt Lake City last week after a visit at the home of Mr. and Mrs. James Dalgleish. CHURCH SPEAKERS Sacrament meeting was held Sunday evening at the Myton LDS ward chapel. Special speakers were Lowell Roberts, DeVere Hancock and Mrs. Wallace Dennis. Miss Alice Todd returned Thursday Thurs-day night from Salt Lake City where she spent several days shopping and attending to business busi-ness matters. Among the members of the local Legion Auxiliary who attended the District convention at Roosevelt Sunday were District President, Florence Lott; Milton Lott; post commander, H. C. Cooper;,' unit president, Alexia Cooper; Mr. and Mrs. Paul Felter; Mr. and Mrs. James Dalgleish; Mrs. W. R. Harris; Har-ris; Mrs. Bliss Lott; Miss Alice Todd; David Tanner, Blaine Brokaw, Bro-kaw, and Paul Bowden. Mrs. Melvin Mel-vin Reed from Myton was a guest. ENTERTAINS FRIENDS Mrs. Homer Robinson entertained enter-tained at a dessert luncheon Thursday evening at her home. Her guest list included Mr. and Mrs. Rex Lamb, Mr. and Mrs.S. F. Mortensen, Sr., Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Linck, Mr. and Mrs. James Dalgleish, Mrs. Bliss Lott, Mrs. H. K. Palmer and Floyd Lamb. Bridge was enjoyed later in the evening with prizes awarded to Mrs. Lamb, Mr. Linck and Mr. Dal-gliesh. Dal-gliesh. Department Commander and Mrs. Harry Tasker of Greenriver, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Voll and Glen Ballinger of Helper were visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Dalgleish Dal-gleish Sunday evening. Weekend visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Don Giles were Mr. and Mrs. Cliff Giles and sons, Fred and Ned, and their niece and nephew, Cathy and Louis Chart- and, all of Odgen. While here they also visited their father, James Giles, and other members of the family. Mr. and Mrs. Wilmer Murray and sons, Jerry and Darrell, were in Altonah and BluebelJ Sunday where they visited her mother, Mrs. M. Verona Winkler, and his brother and sister and families, Mr. and Mrs. Claude Murray and Mr. and Mrs. Lester Maxfield. Mr. and Mrs. A. C. Talboe enjoyed en-joyed a weekend visit from Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Bullock and two children of Provo. Mrs. Bullock is a sister of Mrs. Talboe. While here they also visited' with other relatives in Gusher. |
