Show Clayton Huber Is Winner Of F.F.1. Cite The annual FFA banquet was held at Union High School last Saturday night and was attended by approximately 100 members, parents and guests. Clayton Huber, son of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Huber of Lapoint, received re-ceived the honorary award for Chapter Star Farmer of the year. Three' other award's were presented pre-sented to adults who have helped the organization. These honorary chapter farmers awards were given giv-en to fathers of State Farmer boys, Clyde' Merkley of Tridell, Frank Will of Independence and Roy Huber, Lapoint. Emcee duties were performed by Larry Ross, who introduced Theron Leavitt, president of the Union board, as the main speaker, whose subject was "Leadership Opportunities in FFA." Remarks were made by Principal Loman F. Hutchings and a brief talk was given by Rulon Gilbert, former state reporter, who spoke on "What FFA Means to Me." Miss Kay Timothy, FFA Sweetheart, Sweet-heart, was presented with a Sweetheart Sweet-heart jacket from the chapter. Former State Farmers present besides Rulon Gilbert were Hugh Evans, Rondal McKee and Richard Rich-ard Durfee. General chairman for the successful suc-cessful event was Merlin Murphy-Ag Murphy-Ag instructors are Devon Andrus and Sharon Cummings. The banquet was prepared by Mrs Lawson and Mrs. Hatch, lunchroom cooks, and served by the FHA girls. |
