Show Church Women Of Basin Slate Uernal Meeting Church women of the Uintah Basin will meet on Friday, May 4, to observe "May Fellowship Day," which falls each year on the first Friday in May. The St. Paul's Parish house, located at 226 West Main Street in Vernal, will be the scene of the meetings. The committee in charge of arrangements ar-rangements has announced the guest speaker will be Mrs Pearl Belt, president of the Utah State Council of Church Women of Salt Lake City. Purpose of the program and observance is to promote' fellowship fel-lowship among church women and to inspire them to their duty as Christians. Other days observed by the Council are World Day of Prayer, which is a continuous chain all around the world where groups pray for needs of the people; and World Community Day, which is the first Friday in November. It is a day where prayers are offered offer-ed for the physical needs of the less fortunate. It has been proposed that a chapter of the United Council of Church Women be formed in the Uintah Basin. Any woman interested inter-ested in furthering Christianity beyond the individual church, is urged to participate. The council is made' up of women from all denominations, regardless of affiliation. |
