Show Georgia Telephone Call Reunites War II Buddies Orlie Rachele, Roosevelt Standard Stan-dard employee, was very pleasantly pleasant-ly surprised Wednesday morning when a long-distance telephone call from Gainesville, Ga. reunited him with an army buddy of World War II. This tent buddy, Fay Murphy, and Orlie were separated in New Guinea late in 1943. Both parties had tried to get in contact with each other during the past 12 years. Mr. Murphy, now connected with the Georgia Sheriff's department, depart-ment, made a call to Helper, which was transferred to Roosevelt. The connection was made and old buddies bud-dies rehashed army experiences and brought their respective lives up to date. Orlie stated that "It's always good to hear from old buddies." |
