Show Baldwin -SUSC Track Star A freshman from Cedar City has proven to be a big asset for the Southern Utah State College women's track team'.'...",' 7.'.', .. igbnnie" Baldwin, a 1978 graduate of Cedar City High School, has helped her team score important points this year in the sprints and the 880 yard medley relay. Bonnie is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ben Baldwin of Cedar City. Bonnie and the rest of the Thunderbirds will be facing some stiff competition in the regional meet at Logan (Utah State University) later in May. Along with defending champion Arizona State University, other major powers competing will be Brigham Young University, University of Utah, University of New Mexico, Colorado State , University of Texas at El Paso, and SUSC's arch rival, Idaho State University. With only a five-member squad, the T-Birds are not going to compete with Arizona for team honors, but SUSC Coach Kathryn Berg says that "individually we are stronger than last year, but because of our small team we don't talk about a team concept. "Even with the small size of our squad we picked up 17 points in an eight-team meet earlier this year at Utah State University. We are relatively new in women's track competition, but we look for the improvements we made this year to continue. con-tinue.
