Show Brown addresses Federation Dr. J. D. Brown, Deputy Executive Director of the American Public Power Association with headquarters in Washington, D. C, will be the speaker at the annual meeting of the Southwest Utah Cooperative Power Federation to be held Saturday. The meeting is scheduled for 8 p.m. in the Thorley Music Recital Hall on the Southern Utah State College campus. APPA is a national trade organization of the nation's municipal and local publicly owned electrical utilities and represents more than 2000 such locally owned systems in 47 states, America Samoa, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands. The speaker worked lor several years as a staff member of the Tenncsee Valley Authority before joining the APPA in 1057. He served as APPA legislative director and later as assistant general manager before becoming Deputy Executive Director. Dr. Brown received his doctorate doc-torate in public administration ad-ministration from Ucorgc Washington' University in Washington D C. where he is now serving on the faculty. Carl Palmer, chairman of the SWUPK indicated that several issues will bo discussed at the meeting to which a representative of Kirtici)aling coinmiinilies will be in attendance. Elections will he held In fill positions on the Hoard of Directors. In addition the Federation will consider candidates to serve as manager of the electrical system.
