Show PHS Girls win Region Trophy The Region track meet for 1-A schools was held at Dixie College this year with the Parowan track team participating. par-ticipating. This fine girl's team is under the direction of Coach Iiaura Bailey. The PHS girls won the region trophy with a score of 127 points. Diane Gurr led the team to a good start with a first place in the 100 yd. dash, first in the low hurdles and second in the 440. She also ran on the 440 relay team that placed 2nd in the meet. Anita Green placed 2nd in the 100 yd. dash and 2nd in the 220. Anita also placed 2nd in the long jump and ran on the- 440 relay team. Lisa Stolk another outstanding out-standing athlete at PHS picked up valuable points for the team as she placed first in the high jump and first in the shot put. Misty Bentley took third in the 220 yd. dash and participated in the 440 yd. relay that placed 2nd and the mile relay team that placed 1st. Kim Van Sickle helped on the PHS team with a 2nd in the 440 yd. relay and the medley relay, 3rd place. Barbara Davenport was also on the 1st place mile relay team and placed 2nd in the 880 yd. run. Other girls participating from PHS were Lori Robinson in low hurdles and 880, Carol Hanks in 440 and . 880, Quinten Robinson in the , two mile run, Karen Benson in the medley relay and long jump, Shawna Freeborn in the medley and Christy Austin in javelin. Medley team members were Kim Van Sickle, Angie Bentley, Shauna Freeborn and Karen Benson. The team placed third. |
