Show PHS Students at i Vocational Day PAROWAN. Parowan High School was represented very well by the students attending the 1 recent SUSC Vocational Day. The business department depart-ment , the home economics department, drafting the Industrial Arts Department j and the Agricultural ' Department were all represented by outstanding students. Of n p ! i ' V I) Travis Griffiths The soil judging team-Fred team-Fred Mareno, son of Mrs. Betty Mareno, Parowan, Mark Judd, son of Mr. and Mrs. Albin Judd, Paragonah, and Richard ABbott, son of Mr. and Mrs. Myron Abbott, Paragonah, placed in second place. Mareno placed second individually in-dividually in the whole contest. In woodwork, Theron Roberts, son of Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Roberts, Parowan, won second place on a wooden salad bowl; second place on two small clocks; third place on a cutting board. Travis Griffiths, son of Mrs. Donna Griffiths, Parowan, won first place with a log holder made in metal works class. Alan Burton, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ted Burton, Parowan, and Bill Riggs, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Riggs, Parowan, each won a second place on log holders, also. Todd Robinson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Elmo Robinson, Parowan, won second place on a candlelabra; Raymond Alton, son of Mr. and Mrs. Mark Alton, Summit, placed third with a match box; and Troy Mareno, son of Mrs. Betty Mareno, placed second with a metal pot and pan holder. I P Quintep RoMpsop S Miss Quinten Robinson, i daughter of Mr. and Mrs. j Dale Robinson, Paragonah, was first place winner with a I dress featuring the most j unusual trim. Miss Barbara : Davenport, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alan Stubbs, Parowan, both won second place on their dresses with : unusual trim. Miss Natalie Bentley, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Val Hyatt Bentley, Parowan, and Miss Sydnee Stevens , duaghter of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Stevens, ! Parowan both won red ribbons on their entries of nut bread. The livestock judging ; team, composed of Bryan ( Mount, son of Mr. and Mrs. Bill Mount, Parowan, Randy Holmquist, son of Mr. and Mrs. Wayne A. Holmquist, ! Paragonah, David Hulet, c son of Mr. and Mrs. Carlisle Hulet, Summit, won 6th ,' place. Mount won 8th place individually in the whole contest. |
