Show VVMC Commendation Letter As an accredited hospital, the Valley View Medical Center has received special recognition from the Joint Commission on Accreditation Ac-creditation of Hospitals in observance of National Hospital Week, May 6 - 12, 1979. In an open letter of commendation, John E. Affeldt, M.D., President of the Joint Commission, stated: "The Joint Commission on Accreditation of Hospitals, extends special appreciation to this hospital for the quality of health care provided to its patients. Its voluntary efforts to improve the quality of health care while mindful of the need to contain health care costs are to be appluaded. The achievement of accreditation ac-creditation is evidence of success in complying with national standards of excellence. ex-cellence. It signifies a voluntary commitment to maintain a hgih quality of patient care. By attaining accreditation, this hospital has demonstrated its accountability ac-countability to the patients and community it serves." The Joint Commission on Accreditation of Hospitals is a private, not-for-profit organization that sets standards for and surveys health and health-related facilities and services. In addition to its program for hospitals the JCAH also conducts accreditation programs for long term care facilities, psychiatric facilities and mental health services, ambulatory health care organizations, and services for mentally retarded and other developmentally disabled persons. |
