Show Beavers place First at Ag. Day Millard, third. In team placings, Millard students Joe Wade, Lee Petersen a and BTefa Packer took first place. Parowan students Fred Moreno, Mark Judd and Richard Abbot placed second, and Panguitch students Dave Owens, Bob Barney and Dan Harris placed third. Team and individual placings in soil and livestock judging contests held recently during Agriculture Vocational Day at Southern Utah State College have been announced by competition com-petition chairman V. R. Magelby. Beaver High School students took all three top placings in individual livestock judging for a first place team award with Millard and Valley high schools receiving second and third place team awards. In soil judging, individual honors were won by students from Panguitch, Parowan and Millard with the top three team awards going to students from the same three schools. SUSC scholarsips were awarded to first place winners Rodney Carter, Beaver High School, for livestock judging, and to Dave Owens, Panguitch High School, for soil judging. These scholarships will be used by the winners during their ireshman year at SUSC, Magleby said. Magleby indicated that nearly 300 students from Beaver, Millard, Valley, Delta, Richfield, Parowan, South Sevier, Panguitch, Wayne, Hurricane, and Enterprise high schools participated in agricultural competition this year.
