Show Ellen Jane Wheeler named Best Actress Miss Ellen Jayne Wheeler has captured the title of Best Actress, State of Utah for the second year in a row.Miss Wheeler also has taken the title of Best Actress, Region Six this year and last year. The play,"Where Have All The Lighting Bugs Gone", was acclaimed Best Play. year member of Acpella, marched with the Mohey Tawa her junior year. She did the training and choreography for the marching group in "One Nation Under God", a patriotic pageant presented in Cedar City when she was just thirteen .., and at age fourteen, she did much of the David Wright, who also received honors for his performance, was the 4 omer piayer in tne one-act. The play was directed by Richard Johnson, well-known well-known drama teacher at Cedar High School. Last year, the play in which Ellen appeared, "I Bring You Flowers" was Best Play, State of Utah. Ellen plans to pursue a career in the entertainment field. She will attend college this year after graduation from Cedar High School. Ellen is currently teaching, dancing lessons. She studied at BYU summer programs and at the Las Vegas Studio Theater Under "Brunco" Scronne and Gerald Gardner, as well as with her father, who is a ling-time professinal. Other noteworthy accomplishments ac-complishments are her recently portrayal of "Marie" in Cedar High School's "The Sound of Music". She directed the fall musical, "Cinderella", appeared as the good witch in "The Wizard of Oz" and has done much of the choreography for the musical drama productions. This year she has enjoyed Madrigals, been a three- Ellen Jayne Wheeler choreography for and had a major lead in "March Across . Our Land", a roads'hbw' which' toured five western states during the bicentennial year. Ellen is reported to love her home in Cedar City, and is grateful for the many opportunities she has had to serve in this community with her entertaining talents. She is the daughter of Jay and Charlotte Wheeler and has resided in Cedar City since 1970. |
