Show Special Mother's Day Concert A special Mother's jlay Concert will be presented Sunday by the Southern Utah State College Wind Ensemble. "We're extending a, special invitation to all mothers and other music lovers, to attend this con-' cert," Joseph Lamoureux, SUSC director of bands, said. The performance will begin at 6 p.m. in the Frank A. Thorley Recital Hall. There will be no admission charged. "The program will be a varied one, one especially planned to provide an evening of musical entertainment en-tertainment for mothers on their special day," Lamoreux said. , Included on the program will be "The Cascadians" by Keknneth Kraintz; "Fanfare "Fan-fare and Allegro" by Clifton Williams; "The January February March" by Don Gillis; and Haddad's "Suite for Tuba" featuring tuba soloist Ray Munson, a sophomore mathematics major from Cedar City. Other numbers will include in-clude "Bombasto" by O.R.Farrar; "The Phantom Regiment" by Leroy Anderson; An-derson; "Minstrel Boy," arranged by Mike Leckrone; "Incantation and Dance" by John Barnes Chanch; and "Mary Pop-pins" Pop-pins" arranged by Irwin Kostal. Debbie Callison, a junior music major from Cedar City, will direct Nestico's "Portrait of a Trumpet." Professor Lamoureux will be the trumpet soloist. |
