Show MICHIGAN-UTAH IS DOIMfl li Shipping Record of Company Com-pany Since Beginning of New Year Creditable. OBSTACLES OVERCOME Conditions Such That Output Out-put Can Be Largely Increased In-creased at Early Date. Norman W. Hairo, president of the Michigan-Utah, operating one of the big properties of the Alta Cottonwoods, yesterday yes-terday gave out a statement that is calculated cal-culated to set at rest the fears of some timid ones who have apparently lost faith in the property. President Haire's official statement shows that the mine hae "made good" and that the future outlook is brighter than ever before, inasmuch as tne transportation difficulties diffi-culties have been virtually solved. The formal statement follows: Since January 11, 1917, the Michigan-Utah Consolidated Mines company com-pany has settled with the smelting company lor forty-nine railroad cars of ore. Under the circumstances, circum-stances, this is a fine record. Owing Ow-ing to the tie-up on the railroad between be-tween Wasatch and Midvale, caused by the bad weather, the business of the company was much retarded. Could Raise Output. The management states that, with the railroad working normally, the company could have shipped . 100 cars as easily as the forty-nine, and this on a winter schedule. Settlements Settle-ments were made for four cars of high-grade ore on March 9. These aegrega-ted net at the smelter $4193.19. Developments in the Copper Prince tunnel on the compajiv account ac-count are progressing nicely. Something Some-thing more will be said about ore bodies in this part of the mine in the near future. Bobert A. Brown, consulting engineer for the company, com-pany, has been at the mine for the past severai days and expects to remain re-main there some time. Frank Anderson, An-derson, mining engineer, will go to the mine Tuesday to make some measurements for the company in the several tunnels, with a view of , ascertaining the positions of the ' several ore bodies in tiie mine. Will Make Survey. j Mr. Anderson will make a survey ' in order to make the connection be- j tween these several bodies of ore, their strike and other relative mat- ters. i The tramway between the mine ! and Tanner's "Flat has done good service during the past winter, in 1 spite of the unusually bad weather conditions, and is in good shape now for the spring and summer campaign, cam-paign, j |
