Departing from the custom of other years of presenting a road show for its members at the end of the winter sea- i ton, officials of the Dcseret gymnasium have this year turned the institution over to a body of representative citizens who 'purpose to prodm-e a monster community com-munity hippodrome or winter circus. Tim dates have been set for March 28 and 29, and tentative plans are already j well under way. 1 ncluding the patrons and patronesses, move than oOO persons are directly connected con-nected with the production. A general committee, of which Karl Jay Glade is chairman, has been at work on the plans for several weeks, Meetings have been held almost daily and the general outline out-line for the affair has been completed. Subcommittees will be announced at once to handle the various features as I follows: Events spectacular, comedy and i burlesque, musical features, publicity, ! women's events, arrangements, properties, proper-ties, street, parade, patrons and patronesses, pa-tronesses, decorations, side shows and menagerie. Prominent business men who are members of the gymnasium classes have consented to act on committees com-mittees and the assignments are now being be-ing made. To Hold Street Parade. Features of the programme already determined upon include a spectacular street parade along entirely novel and original lines. An effort is being made ' to secure permission to use Princess j Alice and other animals from the Liber-' Liber-' iy park 7.00. Present plans call for the p;;r:ci ution ot more than loO persons id the parade, which, it is planned, will be given at noon March 2S. The programme pro-gramme i't the gymnasium, which is ideally equipped for the purpose, embodies em-bodies all the thrilling, spectacular and st upend ous features of the modern circus, cir-cus, with a, liberal addition of unique presentations not usually seen in any public production. A hundred athletes, 150 ballot diiucers, a troup from the Imperial German Ger-man Turnvereiu, an entire company of cadets and a whole congress of clowns and comedians will be required to carry out the numbers already assured. The meinbe;s ot the various troupes are already al-ready at work and rehearsals occupy a considerable portion of the available lime at the gymnasium. Prize for Name. An effort is being made to arouse the interest of the entire community in the a Hair and to secure the active co-operation of as many persons as possible. One plan for arousing interest is to permit per-mit the public to suggest the name to be adopted for the hippodrome and to award a prize of -i:2o to the person whose suggestion is accepted. The contest runs to Thursday, March 15, at 12 noon. Any one may suggest as many names a? desired. There are no rules to follow fol-low except that the, name suggested must be inclosed in an envelope which also contains the 11cm dc plume of the sender and le accompanied by an envelope en-velope containing both the noni de plume and the real name of the sender. The publicity committee will select the name that best suits its purpose in exploiting the circus. Some of the Interested.
