Show SHORTAGE OF CARS OELMUDS Tt isn't very often that automobile "loafers 6nd it necessriry to display the S. R. O. fign this early in the season, but siH-h is the case non.rly everywhere. The Browning Auto & Supply company, local distributors for the Overland and TSUys-Knight machines, is cms of the largest automobile dealers in the inter-monntaiu inter-monntaiu territory, and at this time of the roar they usually have from 150 to 200 machines on hand. This year, however, how-ever, they were unable to store cars, owing to the freight car shortage, which became serious early last -winter, and as a result they are right now depending entirely upon the arrival of shipments to make deliveries. In speaking of the matter yesterday V. S. Edmonds of the Browning company com-pany said: We have less than a dozen unsold cars on hand right now and only two carloads aTe en route to us at this time. The freight car shortage short-age is getting worse all the time and there will soon be a lot of dis- appointment among prisons who are waiting until they want to use their , new cars before placing their orders or-ders for samp, Tt is hard to make people believe this, however, and a common expression among prospective prospec-tive purchasers is, ''Oh, well you say cars are scarce, but when I get ready to buy and you see the money before you you'll dig me up a car from somewhere." Let me tell you right now that the "somewhere" referred to above is nowhere to be found this season, and the person who contents himself him-self with a disillusion of this kind will be sorry when spring rolls around and the cars ore all gone. |
