Not only during dur-ing the time allowed to themselves, but also during pait of the time formerly devoted de-voted to drill, the soldiers and officers are husy traninK for coming events. The officers of-ficers of the ciunp think that this work is its beneficial to the soldiers as drill or settinK-up exercises. In a field meet on September W between be-tween companies of the S'Usi infantry, composed of men from Oregon and Washington, Wash-ington, O company took first honors. They had eleven points, while D and K companies tied for second place with ten points each. The machine sun company and the supply company were tied for t bird place with nine points each. On October 6 the canipanies of the Z2 nd ; , infantry will compote in a field meet in i tho same events as were held In the other meet tug-of-war, stick race, reiay, stand- ! Since this truck meet contains a I number of prominent athletes from L'tah and Idaho, some fa it work is expected on that date.
