Show BEEKEEPERS DESIRE CO-OPERATiVE MARKET Assisted "by a representative of the United States department of agriculture, Utah beekeepers will attempt during' the coming season to form a plan for cooperative co-operative marketing of next year's honey crop in the belief that better prices may thereby be secured. The "decision to hold such a midwinter conference was reached at the session yesterday morning of the state convention of beekeepers in the capitol. Dr. E. P. Phillips, agriculturist for the department of agriculture, announced that the government will send a representative to the west to investigate the honey industry in-dustry and determine what are its needs in this section. He said the representative representa-tive of the department will probably be in the field within two weeks, and it Is anticipated that he will come to Salt Lake, opening headquarters here. It Is with him that the beekeepers expect to eo-operate in planning their campaign for better marketing conditions. Who the department's expert will be Dr. Phillips was not able to state. A talk by Dr. Phillips on treatment of apiary diseases, especially European and American foul brood, was a feature of yesterday's session, which brought the convention to a close. |
