Hines has definitely committed com-mitted himself to the race for a com-missioaership com-missioaership iu the coming city election elec-tion by the filing of his petition with the city recorder. It bears 109 signatures. signa-tures. The legal requirement is 100 qualified voters. Equal determination to be iu the running is evidenced on the part of V. S. Fernstrom, Heber M. Wells ail J. E. Lynch, candidates , for commission-ershipa, commission-ershipa, and E. A. Bock, candidate for re-election as city auditor, by their statements of certain expenditures for campaign munitions. These statements were also filed with the city recorder in compliance with the requirements of the corrupt practices act passed by the last legislature. Mr. Fernstrom 's statement shows that he has spent $5.68 so far, $3.50 in payment pay-ment for an advertisement in the Mutual Mu-tual Improvement Messenger and $'J.18 for stationery and stamps. Mr, Bock admits $7 expended for an advertisement advertise-ment in the Messenger and a bill of $20 contracted for printing. J. E. Lynch admits expenditure of $3.50 for an advertisement ad-vertisement in the Messenger. Mr. Wells's expenditures are given as $10. No statement of expenditures was filed by Mr. Hines. The law requires that the first statement must be filed with the recorder on or before the second sec-ond Saturday after the first disbursement. disburse-ment. Each of the candidates, in filing his statement, stated that he was acting as his own campaign committee aud filing fil-ing his report as secretary of that committee. |
