Show I Vernal 1 La Von Wall B Phone 789-0521 Two Vernal residents graduate Two Vernal residents were among the 2,030 graduates at the 105th summer commencement exercises at the Marriott Center, BYU, in Provo. Wayne Calder, son of Earl and Afton Calder graduated with a BS in Engineering Science and Technology. Wayne spent a short visit with "his parents and friends and drove to Jacksonville, Fla., where he will teach industrial arts in a junior high school. His sister Earleen accompanied him and will fly home next week. Troy Ostler, son of Devere and LuJean Ostler also received a BS degree in civil engineering. He is presently employed by Uintah Engineering. He and his wife Nancy reside in Vernal. Mr. and Mrs. Jospeh Rust and family, Bountiful; Mr. and Mrs. Marlin Rust, and family, Mesa, Ariz.; and Mr. and Mrs. Harold Rust and family from Springville, Va.r visited their mother, Mrs. Alta Rust and brother, David Rust and family. While here the family celebrated a birthday for their mother, Alta'. Mrs. Lloyd Wetenkamp and son Jay, from Aberdeen S.D., (Mrs. Wetenkamp is formerly Lois Goodrich) were guests at the home of her mother. Opal Goodrich. They attended the Dallas Goodrich family reunion at Piceance Creek, Colo., with Mr. and Mrs. Darrell Goodrich from Ft. Collins, Colo.; Mr. and Mrs. Myke Hall and family, the former Sharon Goodrich from Meeker. They also visited in Vernal with Lloyd's family, Mr. and Mrs. Dwight Wetenkamp. They returned to Aberdeen Aber-deen last week. Mr. and -Mrs. D.E. Adams from Carthage, Missouri, visited six days in Vernal with friends and former business" associates. While here they attended the Shrine Barbecue. They left Tuesday for Deweyville, Utah, to visit their son, J.R. and Judy Adams and family. They will travel from there to San Antonio, Texas to see their son Bill and Sue Adams and family and to Midland, Texas to visit with their son Gene and his wife Jean and three children before returning home to Carthage. Mrs. Grace Findlay from Spokane, Wash., arrived by plane Friday evening to visit friends in Vernal. She is the guest of Mrs. Jeff Tiffany. She plans to stay one week. Mrs. Lois Clayton arrived in Vernal on Friday to visit friends. She and Grace attended the Shrine barbecue. She will return home to Auburn, Colo., on Monday. . Mr. and Mrs. Bjorn Rye are visiting in Vernal for two weeks. They have returned from a trip along the Pacific Coast and into Canada. From there they crossed the Rocky Mountains and visited eastern Montana and the parks in Wyoming. They left for their home in Casa Grande, Ariz., on Tuesday. The assisted with the Shrine barbecue while here. Mr. and Mrs. L.N. Behunin took some of the Japanese exhange students to Salt Lake City on Friday to Westminister West-minister College on their way back to their homeland, Japan. Chaperone Tomiko Kasuga, Haurnbu Hashida, Kanu Kaizuma stopped enroute at Bottle Hollow and viewed the octagon sided beds and unique design of the motel. They then stopped in Provo Canyon and Newell and Marion took the group up on the Sky Ride Tram, the highest 45 degree angle life in the world. Newell and Marion returned to Vernal Sunday. |
