Show C.VMPTOKAN ANA Camp Tokawana held its first DUP meeting of the year on Friday. Aug 22. up Brush Creek at the ranch of Daughter Maurine Freestone. Nineteen members were in attendance. First vice-captain Eleanor Rust conducted the meeting in the absence ab-sence of captain Geraldine Powell. It was announced that the county officers of the DI P are holding a bake and rummage sale on Sept. 4 at the Dl P museum The pledge of allegiance was led by Dolores Stephenson and the prayer was given by Louise Caldwell. Chorister, Dorothy Hcin. led the singing of "There is Beauty all Around." Oleta White was welcomed as a new member of our camp and Alta Ruse. Elizabeth Price and Max Johns attended as guests. Daughter Bernicc Burke gave a history of her great great grandmother, grand-mother, Mary Ann Rock, who was converted and baptized in England by Wilford Woodruff. She and her family came to America and settled in Nauvoo, 111., and later crossed the plaias to Salt Lake City. Lesson leader Sharon Evertson played a tae of an old radio program of 1!)47, "Fibber McGee and Molly," and the evening ended with a meal served by Maurine Freestone, Aftnn Calder, Marie Lee and Erma Calder. |
