' "A FESTIVAL OF SONG," one of the two already chosen concerts for this season, will perform the music of many nations to bring standard quartet repertoire, folk songs, and Broadway show music together. A Festival of Song is four outstanding singers, pictured, Margaret Imire, Shirley Close, Micheal Handy and Dennis Max-field. Sept. 1-6 Membership Week for Uintah Community Concert Association Membership Week for the Uintah Community Concert Association is Monday, Sept. 1 through noon of Saturday, Sept. 6. according to Mrs. David Condon, chairman of the membership drive. This will be the 24th year that fine performances have been presented in Vernal by the Uintah Community Concert Association. Attendance at the concerts is by membership only, but you may bring out of town guests with you on your membership card, Mrs. Condon stated. Membership in the association is " open to everyone, with memberships being available only during Membership Mem-bership Week. The association guarantees three concerts and four will be contracted if the membership drive Is successful. There have been four concerts for many years and it is anticipated an-ticipated that such will be the case this year. Adult, student, and family memberships are available. Memberhips may be obtained from any of the following who are helping with the campaign: Mrs. Ralph Ashton, Mr. David Arhnsbrak, Mrs. Walter Baker, Mrs. Kathy Burt, Miss Helen Banks, Mrs. David Condon, Mrs. Katherine Day, Mrs. C.L. DeVed, Mrs. Gary Fountaine, Mrs. Douglas Gale, Mrs. Leland Gibbons, Mrs. Lowe Goodrich, Mrs. Clyde Hall, Mrs. Eva Hatch, Mrs. l!e. Heeney, Mrs. Paul Jensen, Mrs. Kenneth Kindt, Mrs. Nelson Marshal, Mr. and Mrs. Curtis May, Mrs. Amos Merkley, Mrs. Ed Mixa, Mrs. Walter Pease, Mrs. Dan Price. Mrs. Anthony Woodhouse, Miss Charyl Siddoway, Mrs. Glade Sowards, Mrs. Marland Stagg, Miss Terri Flint, Mrs. Prent Klag, Mrs. Jon Nelson, Miss Mary Lynn Click. and Mrs. John Luthi. Two of this season's concerts will be The Laureate Ensemble and A festival of Song. The Laureate Ensemble is composed of six young American virtuosi, five woodwind artists and a pianist. The ensemble brings life to an important segment of musical literature, a rich repertory not constantly con-stantly performed and delightful in its many aspects. A Festival of Song is exactly what the name implies: Four outstanding young singers performing the music of many nations to create an exciting evening of-musical of-musical diversity. Standard quartet, repertoire, folk songs, and Broadway show music are all brought together in an evening that is truly in the spirit of a festival of song.
