Show A if I F. LAMAR THACKER Lamar Thacker dies of pneumonia service pays tribute Frederick Lamar Thacker, 83, died August 21, 1980 in the Uintah County Hospital of pneumonia. Born March 30, 1897 in Daniels, Utah, he was the son of Frederick A. and Sarah Jane Price Thacker. He married Maude Adams March 20, 1920 in Vernal, and their marriage was later solemnized solemniz-ed in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He was a rancher and farmer, World War I veteran, member of Vernal Third Ward and helped start the Vernal Golden Age Center. The prayer at the funeral home was given by Arza Adams. Funeral services were in the Vernal Third Ward Chapel, Monday, Aug. 25. Danna Dee Smith and Keith Adams sang, "My Father Knows" accompanied by Eloise Adams. Arthur Curtis gave the invocation. Brian O'Neil gave some remarks, and Leslie Thacker gave a history of Mr. Thacker's life. Ralph Siddoway spoke followed by "Going Home" sung by Anna An-na Lee Mathews and Patty Richards accompanied by Patty Richards on her guitar. Edgar C. Jones spoke, Danna Dee Smith and Keith Adams sang "God Be With You Till We Meet Again" accompanied ac-companied by Eloise Adams. Calvin Adams offered the benediction. Dan Thacker dedicated the grave in the Maeser Fairview Cemetery. Pallbearers were Lawrence Adams, Arza Adams, Denzie Adams, Wesiey Thacker, Dale Thacker and Cary Thacker. Survivors are his widow; a son, Dan Thacker of Vernal; a grandson, three great-grandchildren; two brothers, Leslie Thacker of Vernal and Claude Thacker of Kamas, Utah; and two sisters, Mrs. Sarah Case of Salt Lake City and Mrs. Lottie Bell of Colorado Springs, Colo. |
