Show UHS opens with assembly, expects good year The 1980-81 year began at Uintah High School with the opening assembly Monday, Aug. 25. The assembly included performances by the drill team, flag twirlers and cheerleaders, as well as remarks from studentbody president, Kalvin Pike, Principal William Caldwell and vice principal, Dan Good. The executive council also participated with a newscast and a skit. The big event of the week is the "SOP Night," Thursday, Aug. 28, at Uintah High School on the south lawn. It will be the first annual "summer's over" party intended to bring in the new school year with excitement and fun. Activities planned for the evening include: tug-of-wars, class competition and a spirit rally. Ice cream sundaes will . be provided by the student council. All Uintah High School students are invited. in-vited. With 18 new faculty members, along with new policies and new activities, this year looks to be one of changes and traditions.
