Show I Jonscn I Gladys Peterson 1 I Phone 789-1945 I Jensen LDS Ward reunion Sept. 1 The annual Jensen Ward Reunion will be Labor Day, Sept. 1. Activities begin at 4 p.m. with games for all ages. The water dunk will be featured again this year so wear clothes appropriate for the occasion. Eating will begin at 6 p.m. and the prices are for families, couples and singles. Proceeds will to toward a new building project. A special melodrama will be presented at 7 p.m. There has been a lot of planning put forth for this special gathering and everyone who lives in Jensen now or has lived here at some time is encouraged en-couraged to come and have an enjoyable en-joyable evening. Rodeos are fun but can result in injuries in-juries as Neil, son of Dean and Laura Chew, discovered as he ended up with a broken leg during the bull riding event at Hayden, Colo. Mixed emotions were with many students and their parents as the beginning another school year started this week. Mary Peterson and granddaughter Cindy, had a chance to go to Rangely, Colo., for a visit, Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Ruppe went to Las Vegas. New, to help their son Scott get settled in his living quarters for another year of college there. Aug. 20 was a fun day for all the cub scouts as they gathered at the home of Fran Peterson. The theme of this pack meeting was "A Fiesta Night". The boys and their families were there at 6 p.m. Games were underway with John Allied taking charge. George Turner, cub master, called the meeting to order and presented awards to the boys. The pack that got a ribbon for the most attendance in the summer went to Patty Allied. The Pack was presented with a streamer to put on their flag for having summertime cubs. Pins were presented to the six boys who attended den meetings all summer. A taco supper was enjoyed by all and a pinata was broken to complete the lost ive evening. The biggest crowd ever was in attendance. The I.yn Morrill family took their breeding sheep to the Duchesne County Fair. Mrs. Blanch Wilkens is proud to announce the arrival of another great grandson. He belongs to Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Karen. This makes nine great grandsons and live great granddaughters grand-daughters for Mrs. Wilkens. |
