Show Unneeded bureaus Dear Editor Wallis: With the conditions in the United States growing steadily worse, instead of better, we must make every effort to eliminate the problems which have brought them down on our heads by an over-balanced Federal government, which is composed of so many nonsensical non-sensical bureaus that it has progressed in a stalemate. What we need is industrial development not industrial blockades, which we now have. The wealth of our country is being eaten up by these bloated unnecessary bureaus. The June issue of the Reader's Digest published an article on the waste of billions of dollars of the taxpayers money. The bureau HUD, information given in detail by the Digest, have literally pumped down the drain, this huge amount of money. This is just one of the many operations where these . rudderless bureaus have taken us. Then we have the blocks in our energy recovery, which is so essential to our very survival as a nation! Because of mounds of red tape, it takes 8 years from the time an oil company gets a lease before they can get to drill on it. This is caused by bureaucrats with over-endowed authority. The crucial oil shale movement which theoretically would add billions of barrels of oil to our reserve, an effort is being made to hold up the water for this so essential project to conserve three species of trash fish, which they refer to as an "endangered species!" This type of fish, "chubs," have been a thorn in the fisherman's side for years, plus untold amounts of money to get rid of them and this character wants to preserve them! Sincerely yours, J. A.
