The Banks Construction- 'ompay . iif Salt Lako is another of the large contracting con-tracting concerns which counts its fleet of GMC trucks among the distinct assets as-sets of its business. As proof of tho high ability of the GMC trucks to deliver under hard usage, tho Banks Construction companv last week purchased three new GMC s from the liamlall-Bodd company, Ltd., local distributors of the GMC line. The Banks company already had two GMC trucks in daily use, and as their business expanded, the necessity for additional trucks prompted the purchase pur-chase of the three new ones. All five of tho GMC trucks are now beincr used in construction of the highway high-way at tho Point of the Mountain, in southern Salt Lake county, where the trucks are constantly in service hauling haul-ing huge loads of sand, gravel and other road-building materials. The trucks are equipped with the special spe-cial bodies exactly adapted to the class of work they are called unon to do and which have helped make the GMC trucks favorites with contractors in all lines of business, particularly those demanding de-manding hard, constant use of trucks. The new 1920 Buiclc automobiles, announced an-nounced two weeks ago, are proving to be as popular with the public as were all previous models of this great car, according to Sales Manager Tom Davis or tho Uandall-Dodd An to company, com-pany, distributors of the Bujck in this territory. Many persons are being given demonstrations every day, and the display dis-play of the new Buieks at the salesrooms, sales-rooms, 53 West Fourth South street, is attracting great attention, as are the National mo'leis, also on display at the Randall-Dodd store. Architects are completing the plans for the new "Randall-Dndd building on Second East street, the- erection of which in the near future was announced last week. The architect 's drawings have been approved, and as soon as preliminary plana have been disposed of construction work will .be pushed with all speed, in an effort to have the building ready for occupancy by the first of the year. The new Kandall-Podd Kandall-Podd building, which will adjoin nn the oast the Social Hall avenue automobile auto-mobile center, will be the largest structure struc-ture in tho west devoted exclusively to the motor car industry, and will be a notable addition to the many fine buildings build-ings in Salt Lake used for this purpose. |
