Show Undertakers Fiurin Upon Air Funerals By W. L. MALLABAR, International News Service Staff Correspondent. LONDON, Aug. 9. Not only the living, but also the dead, will have the opportunity of taking a trip by airplane If the plans of a local undertaking firm are carried out. ' This concern has proposed to the Handley-Page people that they construct con-struct a number of aerial hearses. The undertakers say that many persons die in London and the south of England annually whose homes are in the north of England or in Scotland, and that 'in many cases they express a wish to be buried in. their home town. It is, therefore, proposed to carry tho bodies by air i instead of by rail. It also is suggested that the service serv-ice may be extended to India for the purpose of carrying sick and dying dy-ing Hindus to the sacred waters of the Ganges. The Handley-Page people replied that at present they had no intention inten-tion of manufacturing hearses, so the up-to-date undertakers will apply ap-ply elsewhere for their aerial funeral cars. |
