I Carter, thief of the militia bureau of ! the war department. I Under the present limited funds, Utah is allotted one squadron of cav- airy and one battery of field artillery, j this foree to serve as a nueleus around j which to build one regiment of eaeh. : The more efficient the present units ! become, the sooner the larger ones v.-ill be organized after the funds are made available, accord in to Colonel Gordon.
