Show BRAKEMAN IS KILLED AT MOUNTAIN HOME Special to The Tribune. POCATELLO, Idaho, Aup. 9. A report from Glenns Ferry, 160 miles west of Pocatello, Po-catello, is to the effect that R D. Stapp, an Oregon Short Line brakeman, was killed at Cleft elding at Mountain Home yesterday by being run over by the engine en-gine of hl$ own train. Stapp was head brakeman on eastbound extra freight No. 2254, and had let his train in on the .siding to let No. 4 pass. When his train started up ajrain the brakeman attempted to cross the track ahead of the approaching train, but slipped between the rails and the pony trucks of the engine ran over him. He W39 taken to Mountain Home on No. 4, but died before reaching there. Stapp niacin his home In Olennw Ferry, and is survived by his widow. Mr. Stapp's body has been sent to Greenfield, Mo., where his parents reside. |
