Show IDAHO BOY DROWNED IN RIVER NEAR OGDEN Special to The Tribune. OGDEN, Aug. 9. Ernest Mortenson, 16 vears of age. of Thatcher. Idaho, who was visiting relatives in Ogden for a few days, was drowned in the Weber river at 7 o'clock tonight, when he took cramps In the middle of the stream and sank before be-fore aid could be secured. The body was recovered at 10:10 o'clock by Clement Capalu. IT years of age, 177 Twenty-seventh Twenty-seventh street, an export swimmer and diver. Young Mortenson had gone to the river to bathe with his companions. He swam across tire river onco ami was making the second trip when he was slezed with cramps and sank. His companions rati several blocks to tho home of a relative. The fire department, with a lung motor, was summoned and assisted in locating the bodv. Tho members who aided in the worit were Captain H. H. Wardligh, Bruce Hamilton, Parley Jensen and U K. Ylnlng. The body was removed to the Larkln undertaking parlors and the relatives at Thatcher were notified. |
