According to information in-formation which was given out this week a new strike has been made in the property of the Tintic Standard Mining company of I ho East Tintic Mining district, and although the officials offi-cials of the company have very little to say regarding the find, it is considered the most important development there in recent months. The strike was made on the 13o0 level and out toward the southeast, some distance from the main workings, and the ore, while similar to that being taken from other parts of the mine, is thought to be of a higher grade. In the south workings of the Tintic Standard a large station is being out at a depth of HU'O feet and on this level a large blower fan will be installed for the better ventilation of this te el when : the campaign of development work which has been mapped out is taken up. The shaft will be sent on- dow u as toon as the station is finished. The new railroad is now completed to the Jamison Spring, a distance of about two miles from the mine, and the officers offi-cers of the Standard company are considering con-sidering the advisability of installing a loading station at this point, thus cutting cut-ting off the greater part of the haul which Ls necessary to put the ore on the cars. The railroad wilj not be completed com-pleted until about the last of September. Septem-ber. After working for the pat t-c cral months below ihe water level, the officers of-ficers of the Centennial Uureka mine have discontinued their deep work, and a few days ago Ihe pumps were lifted to the surface. This is the second attempt at-tempt that the Centennial Eureka hus made to go after the ore below the water wa-ter level and in each case the flow has I become so- great that operations had to J be discontinued. ! What is considered one of the miracles mira-cles in the camp's history occurred while the last pump was being lif:ed from the mine. John I'rin, one of the shift bosses at the mine, ns riding on the large pump while it was being lifted, lift-ed, when the chain broke and it fell into the sump. Mr. Crin going down ith it. None of the men who were assisting on the job exre-ted to see him removed from the shaft alive, but when ot hnr emplovees went down 1 hey f oun d hi ni lying on an SxS wall pla;e in an unconscious un-conscious condition. The m:in had fallen a distance of four. or five srs nnd be low the point here he was Indeed the falling pump had torn out all the timbers. tim-bers. After being brought to the top lie was found to be uninjured, but had I been badly. shaken up. c was absolutely impossible to r-j r-j cover the pump, as the liaft was fill Ing too fast with waier. and the e-pene e-pene of again pumping the watr out would have been greater t ban the value of tho pump.
