Show NEW RECORD FOR ALTITUDE CLAIMED PARIS, Aug. 9. (Havas). Maurice Walbaug, flying an airplane with one passenger aboard, claimed to have established es-tablished a world's record today by reaching an altitude of 7800 meters (25,590 feet). Lieutenant B. Papa of Italy, carrying carry-ing a passenger, was credited in December, De-cember, 1917, with an unofficial altitude alti-tude record of 23,212 foet. BERLIN, Friday, Aug. 8. (By the Associated Press.) Zeppelin airship service between Berlin and Munich will be inaugurated in the near future, says the Vossische Zeitung. It is expected the .iournoy will bo covered in seven hours. The fare will be three hundred marks. |
