Show NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS. Sealed proposals will be received tty the commissioner of public works of the "ytate of Idaho, at the office of the commissioner, Boise. Idaho, until 2 o'clock p. m., on the 22d day of August, 1919, for the construction construc-tion of 30.5 miles of the north and south state hlRhway in Adams and Idaho counties, coun-ties, between New Meadows and White-bird. White-bird. Bids will be opened and publicly read at the above-stated hour. Plans, specifications, form of contract, proposal forms and other Information may be obtained at the office of the director of highways, Boise. Idaho, and at the Employers' Em-ployers' association of the Inland Empire, Hutton building, Spokane, Wash. All proposals must be niadt the forms furnished, and must be signed by the bidder bid-der with his address. The right is reserved to reject anv or all bias, or to accept the bid or "bids deemed best for the state of Idaho. No bid will be considered unless accompanied accom-panied by a certified check on some bank In the Btato of Idaho, made payable to to the commissioner of public works, in the amount of 5 per cent of the total amount of the hid. This certified check Is to become the property of the state of Idaho, not as penalty, but as liquidated damages, if the bidder, upon acceptance of hla bid, fails or refuses to enter into a contract, or to furnish the required surety bond, within ten days (not including includ-ing Sundays) after presentation of the contract by the commissioner of public works to him for execution. A bond with a surety comnar.v authorized author-ized to do business in the -'.ate of Idaho, and satisfactory to tile commissioner of public works, will be required for the faithful performance of the contract, in the sum of fifty per cent (50 per cent) of the total amount of tho contract price. It is the purpose of tiie commissioner to build the road in the shortest time consistent with good construction, and complete and well-designed equipment and effoctive organization will bo insisted upon.
