Show NEW ROTARY MOTOR HAS 24 CYLINDERS Tho Sieverkropp Kngine company has started work on a twenty-fourcyliudcr two-cycle, rotary aviation engine, which is expected to develop 500 horsepower at 1 40U revolutions per minute. Tho engine is of a new aud distinct typa recently developed by TTenry Siever-"Jfropp, Siever-"Jfropp, president, and chief engineer of the company. The twenty-four-cylinder engine is being built at the suggestion of the technical division of the government govern-ment aircraft board, on the basis of the performance of a smaller experimental engine completed by Mr. Sieverkropp about two mouths ago and submitted for official tests. The engine already constructed is a twelve-cylinder, two-eycle, two-eycle, rotary type, rated at 1" horsepower, horse-power, but "it has developed 140 horsepower horse-power nt 2?on revolutions per minute without appreciable effort. |
