Show PLAN 10 STABILIZE PRICE5J0R PORK Action Taken by Food Administration Ad-ministration to Maintain Hog Production. Plans for price stabilization in the pork market to meet changed market conditions, were outlined at a recent conference between the livestock committee com-mittee of the agricultural advisory board and the food administration ami have been announced in an official circular cir-cular just issued by the conference. Peace 'talk and other conditions, it is stated, has caused a break in corn prices which is threatening a demorili-zation demorili-zation in the pork market, and it -was with a view to preventing this and a consequent decline hog production that the conference was held. Support of the producer, in not ( ( flooding" the market is urged by the conference, and packers are asked to establish a minimum of $17.50 per hundred pounds on the average of packers' pack-ers' drives, exclusive of "throwouts," and a minimum of not less than $16.50 on these "throwouts. " The conference arranged for appointment appoint-ment of a committee to supervise the markets and to aid in every way possible possi-ble in preventing flooding and decreased de-creased hog production.. The co-operation of all concerned is asked to prevent pre-vent a demorilization of th3 hog market mar-ket and to maintain the production at a standard which will amply meet all demands that may come after the war. |
