Show IRONKINGLiKELY TO Ml IF Management Considers Advisability Ad-visability of Exploration on the 1100 Level. Special to The Tribune. EUREKA, Sept. 21. Over in the eastern east-ern end of the district, the shaft of the Iron King company is now nearing tho 1100-foot level and it is said that Colonel C. E. Loose, the manager of the company, com-pany, may decide to do some drifting at that point. Already the shaft hap rut some promising vein matter. showing small value, and the officers of tlie com-I com-I panv arc anxious to sound out their terri-I terri-I torv ai a depth of 1100 feet. They fee! rather confident that there is a chance to ' get into commercial ore ai that depth, but if there should be no important change after a drift has been driven for a few hundred feet no time will be lost in getting down to the 1200 or IHOO level. The Iron King holdings are exceptionally exceptional-ly well located, and. in the opinion of local mining men who have made a study of Hie eastern end of the district, that company cannot help but develop a big mine if deep operations continue. The other shafts are now be in;; sunk in the same section of the d is trie t. being be-ing those of the Copper Leaf and the Apex Standard companies. The latter is located but a -short distance to the oast of the Iron King, -while the Copper Leaf is a short distance 10 the north of the' Tiniic Standard. Three other companies are also busy in the same part of t iie district, being the Zuma. Eurkea Lilly and lOureka Bullion, although neither of these mines are doing shaft work at the present time. Then there are the extensive ex-tensive operations of the Tintic Drain tunnel, although the point where this work is in progress is some distance further fur-ther to the southeast. With ail of these properties hammering away in good shape, to say not hing of the opera tions at East Tintic's big bonanza, the Tintic Standard, that part of the district is more active than it has ever been, and the coming year should witness even greater activities. |
