Show PLANS PREPARED TO REGISTERSTODENTS Dr. E. G. Peterson Completes Com-pletes Preparation for Housing of Men. Intensive preparations, covering a period of several weeks, have been completed in anticipation of a record-breaking record-breaking registration at the Utah I Agricultural college next Monday, when applications for admission to the Students' Army Training Corps will be received. Through special action on the part of the board of trustees of the college, the date for registration for section B of the S. A. T. C. has been moved ahead one week, and will begin Monday, September 2."., instead of one week later, as originally planned. Preparations already made to receive the student-soldiers include provision for medical examination by a staff of physicians appointed by Dr. E. G. Peterson, Pe-terson, president, of the college, accommodations accom-modations for housing and feeding the boys on the college campus and putting int.i effect immediately the government plan for military and technical training. train-ing. The regular college military organization, or-ganization, which has been in existence for tv-cuty-seven (years, merged with the reirular array, will boo-in work at once. i:v order that students may obtain the utmost benefit from the time spent at the college. I he may be inducted into service voluntarily volun-tarily and will receive the benefit of the government plan for technical training. To those who are not eligible for entrance into section B, the suggestion is made that they may enter the college col-lege as regular students and receive not only tho advantage of intensive vocational vo-cational training, but will in addition be given military training. Students in this class are required to pay their own expenses until action has been taken by their draft boards, when they may be either assigned to further educational work or active service. |
