T have three patent piston ringn on each piston of my Ford, and I've been told that this equipment doesn't allow enough oil to get through and that the cylinders will get scored. The bottom or scraper ring is not essential. The rings do not cause the scoring. I fill my battery up with water once a week, as the maker advises. When sprinps are very old and are "litVlpss," if they lire oiled or frrensed they flex too much nnd may break. Better to Just remove rust from between the leuves aud not use grease or oil. Is it all right to have a spline shaft welded, or would this hold only for a little while? The clutch shaft on my car is all worn so the splines allow of too much play.
