Entente naval units and allied troops operating along the river Dwina, In northern European Russia, have sunk two enemy ships and have captured three puns, according to an official statement issued by the British Brit-ish war office today. Heavy losses were inflicted on the Bolshevik forces by the entente allies. Trotzky Escapes Death. AMSTERDAM, Sept. 21. An attampt was made at Kursk to assassinate Leon Trotzky, the Bolshevik minister of war and marines, according to a dispatch sent from Kiev by the correspondent of the Leipsig Abend Zeltung. The correspondent says a soldier fired twice at Trotzky but missed his mark. U. S. Uniform Familiar. ARCHANGEL, Russia, Wednesday, Sept. 11. (By tho Associated Press.) The Norwegian Norwe-gian foreign office advised the state department de-partment today that American Consul General Poole at Moscow had not been arrested by the Bolsheviki, as recently reported, and that direct communication had been held with Moscow as late as September 12. Reports regarding mistreatment of Americans in Russia have not been confirmed, con-firmed, it was said here today. The recent Bolshevik defeat on the northern front is attributed to a mutiny of Lettish regiments, according to a Petrograd telegram tele-gram to the North German Gazette of Essen.
