Show SENTENCE SUSPENDED IN TRANSIENT CASES Special to The Tribune. OGDEN, Jan. 5. A. W. Austin, a railroad rail-road brakeman, charged with having liquor in bis possession, was given a suspended sus-pended sentence by Judge George S. Barker this mcrning when he demonstrated demon-strated to 'the court that he was merely passing through the city on his way from Denver to California. Austin, who had a quart bottle of whisky in his possession when arrested last night, said be purchased pur-chased the liquor in Cheyenne, Wyo. Judge Barker assessed a fine of $50, with the understanding that it was suspended if he left the city at once. C. E. Myers, a stockman of Kansas City, was released on the same conditions because he said he was a transient. |
