The employees of the Ogden Fortland Cement company gave a dancing party In the First ward amusement hall Friday Fri-day evening. No. 1, were on a hike up Miller's canyon Monday of this week. Twenty bovs, under the leadership of Cantain J- H. Latimer, left town in the morning for the canyon. After arriving at the plaster claims camp was established estab-lished and dinner prepared. After the hike was over -the boys spent the time In playing games and taking in the different differ-ent sights. At 4 o'clock the march was . commenced homeward. Misses Ruth Foote, Lavetta Alien and ZeJla Kinkle planned a successful surprise sur-prise for Miss Marie Miller Thursday evening. The crowd met at the home of Miss Foote and marched to the home of Miss Miller unannounced. -"The evening was spent in games and music. At 10:30 rpfreshments were served to the large ciowd present. Monday evening the home of Mr. and Mrs. William Foster was the scene of a pleasant surprise for their daughter May. The time was snent with dancing and games. A marriage of interest to many Logan people took place on Washington's birthday birth-day in Florida, when Miss Coral Kerr of Logan became the bride of A. E. Aldous of Washington, D. C. After a few weeks in Florida, Mr. and Mrs. Aldous will go to the capital to make their home. The Clio circle met Wednesday with Mrs. John A. Hendrickson. Mrs. Mada Powell gave the drama, "Chitra." by Rabindranath Tagore. A discussion followed, fol-lowed, led by Mrs. Moses Thatcher.-., Monday afternoon the A. C. Woman's club met with Mrs. F. W. Thatcher. Mrs. George W. Thatcher had charge of the programme, the topic being "Patriotic Songs and National Hymns." After an interesting in-teresting paper on the development of these songs, Mrs. Thatcher accompanied a quartette of young boy singers to illustrate il-lustrate a number of these beautiful hymns in song.
