Tho West eida ; high school basketball team o Salt Lake ; won the Salt Lake division championship' champion-ship' here tonight, by defeating the Tooele Too-ele high school quintette, 40 to 16. The West siders will return to Salt Lake tomorrow afternoon. Stan Johnson, the husky center and captain of the Salt Lake Panthers, received re-ceived a severe sprain oi the wrist tonight, to-night, but continued until the end of the game. Tonight It appears almost cer- : tain, however, that he will be unable to participate in the tournament. So close did the the S2.lt Lake players guard tonight that the Tooele forwards were able to get only two neld baskets. ; The slippery floor hampered both teams to a certain degree, but the ability ot 1 the visitors to shoot long oues caused the downfall of the locals. Gee, the local center, who did much of the Bcorlnpr for the local team during the first of the season, would not take the directions of Coach West, it is asserted, as-serted, and his work in the two games was a great disappointment to al!, as be 1 let his opponent score twelve baskets and he could get only one from the rield.
