Show Music at the American. Especially strong programmes of music were ( rendered by the American concert orchestra under the leadership of Prof. J. J. McCleilan during the week. Max Bruch's "Kol Nidrei" Is among the biggest big-gest and best works ever played by the orchestra and it was given a stirring interpretation by Mr, McCleilan and his men. The grand selection from Verdi's opera, "Aida," wns warmly encored at ench performance per-formance when given and tlie orchestra's playing of some Beethoven and Mozart excerpts was generally enjoyed, as well as several old and new comic opera potpourris pot-pourris which were also given. . Some new numbers by Kreisler eminent emi-nent Austrian violinist, who charmed Salt Lakeis In his tabernacle concert recently, will be performed during the coming week. The organ solos of Messrs. McCleilan, Williams and Harmon were, as ever, features. |
