Show PUB FOE EXTRA SES1IH1IEQ Commerce Committee Accepts Ac-cepts Trade Board Members Mem-bers With One Exception. WASHINGTON", Feb. 27. Plans for an extra session of the senate to ratify treaties and confirm nominations immediately im-mediately after March 5 have been abandoned. The foremost of possibilities possibili-ties being considered today was uu extra ex-tra session beginning probably on October 1, two months earlier than the sixty-fourth congress would ordinarily aesemble. Favorable action was taken today by the senate interstate commerce committee commit-tee on all President "Wilson's nominations nomina-tions to the federal trade commission except George Kublee. That removed the one remote possibility of an extra session of the senate in March, and the determined announcement of Eepubli-cans Eepubli-cans that they would fight the Colombian Colom-bian treaty all eummer if necessary probably was another deciding factor.' Both houses continued today working on appropriation bills and conference reports. There is everv prospect that all would be completed by March 4 with exception of the river and harbor bill, for which a joint resolution appropriating appro-priating a lump sum to be expended by the war department probably will be substituted. Tonight Republican senators gave a farewell dinner to their colleagues who retire March 4. |
