The senate sen-ate today accepted the conference report re-port on tho seamen 'a bill, already adopted adopt-ed bv the house, thus ending n. two vear'a fight in congress. The bill now goes to the president. The measure raises the standard of j labor for seamen and provides for increased in-creased safety equipment on lake and ocean steamers. When Senator Hoke Smith entered the chamber and found the bill passed he declared he had bt-frn misinformed of tho time of the vote and pave notice of a motion to reonidcr.
